Day 3 Highlights of Atreyapuram Utsavam 2026

Day 3 of Sir Arthur Cotton Godavari Trophy – Sankranti Sambaralu 2026, hosted at Atreyapuram (Atreyapuram Utsavam), marked a significant day in the celebrations with a strong focus on culture, water sports, and tourism-driven activities along the Godavari.


The day witnessed the participation of key dignitaries including


Sri Bandaru Satyanand Rao, Hon’ble MLA, Kothapeta Constituency;


Ravirala Mahesh Kumar, IAS, Managing Director – Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation;


Anitha Vangalapudi, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh;


Kandula Durgesh, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Culture & Cinematography, Government of Andhra Pradesh


G. M. Harish Balayogi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Amalapuram; and


Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel, Government of India.





Their presence added importance to the day’s proceedings and reflected the growing stature of Sankranti Sambaralu as a large-scale public festival in the Konaseema region.

Day 3 featured a diverse set of activities that kept the venue active throughout the day.


Traditional Burra Kathalu performances drew attention for their storytelling and cultural relevance, connecting audiences to local folk traditions. Alongside this, the Dragon Boat Race emerged as a major attraction, with teams competing on the Godavari and spectators gathering in large numbers along the banks.


Multiple water sports events further added to the excitement, showcasing the river’s potential for adventure-based tourism and engaging visitors across age groups. The combination of cultural performances and sporting events created a well-rounded festival experience and sustained crowd interest throughout the day.


The activities on Day 3 not only celebrated the cultural identity of Konaseema but also highlighted Atreyapuram as a growing destination for tourism-led events. The scale of participation and public response reinforced the relevance of such festivals in strengthening regional visibility and visitor engagement.


This initiative reflects the Government of Andhra Pradesh’s focus on promoting tourism development while celebrating regional culture through large-scale public festivals, using platforms like Sankranti Sambaralu to combine tradition, community participation, and destination promotion.
