Atreyapuram Utsavam 2026, organised as part of the Sankranthi Celebrations – Sir Arthur Cotton Godavari Trophy, is a three-day cultural festival held from 11th to 13th January 2026 in Atreyapuram, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, Andhra Pradesh. The festival brings together traditional celebrations, community activities, and cultural experiences with a focus on heritage preservation and tourism development.


The Kite Festival, scheduled on 13th January 2026 from 12 PM onwards at the Atreyapuram Canal, is one of the most joyful and interactive events of the Utsavam. It reflects a Sankranthi tradition that is deeply familiar to families across the region.


About the Kite Festival


Flying kites during Sankranthi has always been a symbol of celebration, leisure, and togetherness. At Atreyapuram Utsavam, the Kite Festival brings people of all age groups together along the canal, creating a lively and welcoming environment.


Participants and visitors gather to fly colourful kites, share techniques, and enjoy the festive mood. Children, families, and tourists actively take part, making it one of the most engaging daytime events of the festival. The open space near the canal offers a clear view of the skies filled with kites, creating a memorable experience for visitors.


Prize Details:

  • 1st Prize: ₹6,000

  • 2nd Prize: ₹4,000

  • 3rd Prize: ₹3,000

The Kite Festival adds a relaxed and cheerful element to the Utsavam while giving visitors a chance to experience a traditional Sankranthi activity in a rural setting.

  • Cine Orchestra & Musical Concerts – 11th & 12th January 2026, from 7 PM onwards, Atreyapuram High School Grounds
